Beauty is in the eye of the beholder

Another photo from the San Diego zoo.

I forget the name of this animal (pretending that I ever knew here). He was so funny, like a pig-dog. What you can’t see from this photo is a Mom was standing next to me holding a toddler in a sun hat. The baby was making all sorts of baby noises at the pig-dog, and the pig-dog genuinely seemed to enjoy the baby and her chatter. He walked over to where we stood, poked his snout in the air and smiled. Then the baby looked at me like, “See. See here what I did. I called him. He came.” The pig-dog just stood there enamored of the baby, and I wondered if he actually understood the baby babble. When the Mom and the baby walked away, so did the pig-dog.
