He’s on leash too! That’s funny. He is determined to eat down to whatever is delicious in there.
He was determined. I know his sniffer is keen and he thinks something was in that tree, but it looked very solid to me – not like something an animal would be hiding in.
It may just be for fun. Xena likes to attack a stick and chew it up like that. He’s just more ambitious!
Good theory. Perhaps this is what he is doing. He selected 2 trees to do this with and then went on his merry way.
Like a beaver trying to chew the tree down.
A little fat beaver….hard working too.
I dunno, I think he was just pissed the tree was so dang big and wanted to take it down a notch or two. Dachshund vs Redwood, a la David vs. Goliath.
LOL! I like that explanation the best. Maui says, “You are coming down,” between mouthfuls of bark.
